Just one year ago, I was introduced to Lederer watches. The brand, founded by Bernhard Lederer, creates incredible movements with complex mechanisms. Constant-force escapements and twin gear trains are some of the impressive details.
Bernhard Lederer and his wife Ewa welcomed us into their suite at the Beau Rivage in Geneva. It overlooked the lake, the Jet d’Eau, and the Alps beyond. Bernhard is a romantic and a storyteller at heart. He wooed us. But it wasn’t difficult. His watches were unlike anything else we had seen.
Watches & Wonders 2024 saw the release of numerous mega complications and record setters but what is arguably even more unusual than any of those is the downsizing of a movement that is equipped with one of the most complex and efficient escapements.
